Washington Sailing Marina, Alexandria, VA

RESULTS - UPPER COURSE

RESULTS - LOWER COURSE

RESULTS FROM 2009

ALL one design classes welcome; separate starts for 5 or more boats.  Smaller classes may be started together.  The races will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

Two race courses are planned.  The upper course off of Hains Point will be for Albacores, Buccaneers, Hamptons, Interlakes, Lightnings, Flying Scots, and similar boats.  The lower course off of the Power Plant will be for Lasers, Penguins, Sunfish, and similar boats.

Here is the NOR in a PDF that is suitable for printing.

Register in advance using an on-line registration form.  See Who is Coming.

If you don't want to fill out and submit an on-line registration form, you can print and then fill in a hardcopy registration form and bring it to the regatta on Saturday morning.

Marina Entry: Participants bringing boats from outside the marina on Saturday morning simply need to tell the guard at the gate that they are sailing in the regatta, and fill in a sign-in sheet.  Payment of Marina entrance/launch/storage fees at the gate is not required.  If you only intend to sail on Saturday, be sure to indicate on the sign-in sheet that you will be there for only one day.

Rolling Thunder:  Several thousand motorcycles will descend on the Pentagon parking lot on Sunday, starting at about 9 AM; many inbound routes to the marina, including I-66; I-395; and the GW parkway will undergo temporary closures between 9 and 10 AM.  Check the schedules in the newspaper the day before, and plan your departure to get on to these routes before the temporary closures - or risk being late to the race course due to an inability to reach the marina timely.
