Winners Write up, Frostbite Series #10 - 02/04/2007
Drew Husdon

I just tried to follow Erich and if I got a nose out from him I just tried to cover cover cover! Just kidding...but actually that's partially true. I think the main thing I been trying to do is get good starts, protect the favored side of the course and cover the fleet. Even if I'm behind, instead of banging a corner to try getting out of the hole in one move I've been trying to stay close to the fleet on the favored side and wait for opportunities.

In the beginning the course was not square, favoring the boat end and the puffs were coming from the right as well so it really seemed to make a difference if you were the first to get to the right side of the course after the start. Other than that I think just staying in the puffs down wind was huge as well. Oh, and not running aground helped too!

I'd to thank the person doing RC!
