Sunday turned out to be a great day despite the decidedly frostbite-appropriate temperatures. wind was a shifty and northwesterly making for quite interesting racing among the over 20 boats making it out. It appeared the wind was making up for the week before, ranging from 6-15kts and causing an occasional swim. Getting into and staying in the puffs was the deciding factor both upwind & downwind, as the shifts could go either way in typical Potomac fashion. Hitting the first puff after the start was key to getting around the top mark in the top half of the fleet.
Overall the day was great preparation for the coming coldest frostbiting month of the year!
Fantastic to be out on the water again,
Ian Conners
