Stop at the mark
Stop at the mark.

GOAL: Maximum boat speed, hitting the line at the horn.

Stop at the mark:  Boats sail, one at a time, to a mark and stop just 1 ft away from it.  Hold 30 seconds (listen for whistle that goes off every 30 seconds).  After 30 sec. hold, accelerate and loop around, getting back in line.

Three piece line
Three piece line.

Three piece line:   Boats will sail counter clockwise within a box made from a start line and 2 leeward marks.  After a 3 min countdown from Ollie (which will roll, or a volunteer will stop for a couple of minutes) sail across the start line, either between the pin and 1/3 of the way in, the middle 1/3 of the line or the boat end of the pin and that 1/3 of the line.  Sail for 10 yards and sail back into the box.

Stall at the line
Stall at the line.

Stall at the line:  Using a whistle every minute, boats will sail up to the line on starboard, tack over to port and stall, sliding down the line without backing away from it until the next whistle.

2 deep stall at the line
2 deep stall at the line.

2 deep stall at the line:  Same as stalling at the line, uses 2 boats, one in windward position, one in leeward..

Musical boats:  With a 3 min countdown from Ollie, all boats stall at the line from starboard.  After drifting to the pin, jibe and return to the line on port  if there is a hole to fill by the time you get to the boat end of the line.  If there is no opportunity once you've passed the boat, tack back over to starboard and get in line to stall at it when an opportunity arises.
