Notes: Good summary of day for Albacores from Bill Buck

Seven Albacores showed up to race even with the Fleet having RC--not bad! The day started out with a lovely southerly and above average temps, but those gentle southerlies lasted just long enough to get the course the predicted strong westerly filled in. This was enough to send Jeff Davis with his two youngsters back to the Marina. On the line for the first race was Khin, Lloyd, the Grahams, Dan, George, Bill K and myself. At the start George apparently did a Bill Buck and lost the tiller in a final starboard tack before the horn, lost his balance and managed to get hit on the head by the boom. He decided that was enough and retired. The winds were building to the high teens and as Khin, Lloyd. Jim, Dan, Bill K and I rounded the windward mark, all us took of on a  screaming plane to the jibe mark. we lost Lloyd and Dan on spectacular capsizes, but they both recovered to finish the race. Khin did a horizon job with Jim, me, Bill K, Lloyd, and Dan following. With the wind building I again decided to "bag It". The second race without any capsizes with Khin again taking a first, followed closely by Jim, Lloyd, Dan and Bill. The winds continued to build for the third race so Jim and Khin retired. I don't know where Dan figured in this, but Just Bill and Lloyd sailed a fourth race.
