2004 Spring Series #1Sunday April 4 Racing
was cancelled due to high winds that averaged in the mid 20s with gusts
up into the 30s. Only
Barney Harris and Scott Snyder braved the conditions.
They put on drysuits (the water was 49 degrees) and launched an
Albacore with sound floatation tanks.
Even they capsized several times, but managed to keep the mast
out of the mud and enjoyed some screaming reaches.
We also tip our hats to the Georgetown co-ed sailing team that
was out there team racing on their very buoyant Flying Juniors and
wearing drysuits or wetsuits. |
